FEATURE | Limpopo is represented: Meet Moraba Malema, Aspiring Miss South Africa 2021

When she got 2nd position in a poetry competition that was held in Seshego, Moraba Malema, better known as "Mamlambho", couldn't believe her luck. Today, Moraba is an Aspiring Miss South Africa 2021 Contestant. Is it about "beaty with brains", as they say?, No; Moraba believes that "When you live for a strong purpose, hard work isn't an option. It's a necessity".

Hailing from a small village of Mokomeng in Limpopo, Moraba Malema is a definition of a saying: "All Gas, No Brakes". Nothing can stop a woman with a dream.

From being crowned the first princess in her hometown, Moraba has been adding more titles to her name. But how did it all start?.

"My family played an important role in helping me to be where i am today. When i was still a minor, they used to make me wear heels and i would start walking around the house like a princess and this is how i actually fell in love with modeling" said Moraba, Speaking about how she started modeling and also emphasising the role that families can play in supporting a child's dream.

Speaking about family, Moraba's sister, Morongwa, is also her personal stylist who's making sure that she is always looking good for the camera. Indeed Blood will always be thicker than water.

In 2018, Moraba entered Miss Mokomeng where she was crowned 1st princess. "Winning Miss Mokomeng was a big archivement for me as i am a person who believes in rural development and so it gave me a platform to advocate for that" She said.

Moraba's journey has been one with lessons. In 2018 she entered Miss Botlokwa where she was crowned 2nd princess. "This taught me a big lesson about trying again and again until you get it right because the following year i entered the competition again and was finally crowned 1st princess" She said.

"In 2019, i participated in Miss We Own Things where i was crowned 2nd princess. Having leant a lesson about doing it 'again and again', i entered the competition again and was finally crowned 1st princess. This improved my confidence and changed my perspective on competitions"

Finally, in 2020, Moraba archived what she calls a "landmark archivement" by becoming Miss Personality 2020. "I want this to be an inspiration to many people, especially those in rural areas. People should be able to look at me and see a leader that leads by example. I want people to look at me and say if she can do it, i can do it too. There are plans underway to raise funds for my foundation which will focus on helping people improve themselves by fighting poverty, unemployment, mental health issues and human rights violations", Moraba explained.

The road to Miss South Africa 2021 has begun. Miss South Africa is a leadership platform for ambitious young South African women. Through a pageantry process, contestants receive world-renowned coaching in addition to advanced networking, business and life skills.

Shaped into brand ambassadors for our country, they become champions of women’s rights, thought leaders and savvy career women who inspire other young South Africans to fulfil their potential, recognise their self-worth and find their place in the world.

With the entries for Miss SA 2021 closed, the judges will pick the 30 women who will go through to the next round.

Following days of rumors and suspicions, Moraba has confirmed with Analy Online that she has indeed entered Miss South Africa 2021 and is still awaiting selection to the next round.

"I've always wanted to enter Miss South Africa and been following them for some time now. I was however always reluctant to enter the competition because i did not have enough time available", She said; "However, i wrote my final exam in June and i am therefore ready to embark on MissSA2021 journey", She added.

We wish you nothing but the best on your journey. Botlokwa is behind you. Moshabi!!.
