When we talk about a new direction that Africa ought to take, young people are definitely the leaders of tomorrow. It is for the reason that Mncedi Koboka, a 22 year old Public Relations & Communication student, Co-founded Young Leaders of Tomorrow (YLOT). Young Leaders Of Tomorrow is a registered NPO that focuses on tackling problems faced by the youth in terms of social and domestic issues through Projects & Campaigns. Its recent event is the #Suicide Awareness campaign which seeks to educate, raise awareness & inform people about Mental Health.
“Do it broke, do it tired, do it scared, do it alone, do it hurt, just do it: Because you matter!” This is what drives Mncedi.
Koboka is one of the Thuli Madonsela Foundation(THUMA) Ambassadors, this is an organisation that seeks to advance the founder's legacy by providing democracy related conversation platforms, solutions & services that deepen democracy & empower the dissatisfied."I am also a radio presenter at African Vibe Radio and former presenter at Hillbrow radio, this is where i got to interview political giants like Prof Thuli Madonsela & Herman Mashaba, just to mention a few," he said. "I am a verstile radio presenter who is passionate about the broadcasting industry."
Originating from a small town of Mdantsane in Eastern Cape, Mncedi suffered from low self-esteem, “I began modelling in 2017 after I was convinced by my acquaintances to start working professionally and since then, I've been working tirelessly to make a name for myself, that's how and where I gained my confidence”, he explained.
“Joining Mr South Africa was something out of my comfort zone but I decided to challenge myself and enter the competition. I was then shortlisted, fast-forward today –I am Mr South Africa finalist”.
"I am moved by stories of black people who never allowed their past and financial background – to discourage them from achieving their dreams #BlackExcellence."
"As an activist of change, should i win Mr South Africa 2021 competition, i'll focus more on changing our societal ills that makes our lives hard, among other things, access to Mental health care that is affordable or free, eradicating unemployment and alleviating poverty."

"I believe that we are all born to shine and manifest the glory of God that is within us. Our deepest fear is not that we're inadequate, our deepest fear is that we're powerful beyond measure. Who are you not to be brilliant, talented or gorgeous? There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. When we liberate ourselves from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others," he said.
